Physics of Everyday Phenomena
Physics 110
Spring 2005
This course is designed to help you develop an understanding of many everyday phenomena from a physics perspective. There is no math prerequisite. You will learn to manipulate simple equations, and do simple physics problems. You will also gain a conceptual understanding of many physics principles and be able to apply them to the world around you. And we will have fun!

The web page for this course can be found at: http://physics.pacificu.edu/townsend/phy110. There will be a link to login to Web Assign here. There will also be sample exams, an updated syllabus and schedule, and possibly other useful information on these pages.
Web Assign is a homework system on the web. The advantage to you is that you can repeat a problem several times until you get it right. The system lets you know if your answer is correct or not. Thus, if you put a bit of time in, you should be able to get near 100% on your homework, which counts for 20% of your grade. In order to continue to use this system you need to pay $6.50, payable to Debbie Pariera in the science division office, Strain 102, near our classroom. You can immediately start using the system the first day; your payment is due by the end of the first week. Instructions on how to access the web assign and a direct link are on the web page for the class.
